Ganesh to play a special investigation officer
Ganesh Venkatram, who has wrapped up the shooting of 7 Naatkal, has signed his next film. Titled Inayathalam, and directed by duo Shankar and Suresh, the film will see him playing a special investigation officer along with Malayalam actress Shwetha Menon and actor Erode Mahesh.
Talking about the film, Ganesh says, The title Inayathalam means website or web portal, and the film is a thriller.

The plot is inspired from real-life cyber crime cases, and director Shankar has done a lot of research on the nuances of such cases. The thrilling part of this film that revolves around a cyber crime case is that one is looking for a culprit (villain), who is nameless and faceless, and could be in any corner of the world. I play a special investigation officer, who assists the cyber crime officials (Shwetha Menon and Erode Mahesh) in a baffling case. The film has a strong social message as an underlying theme, which is why I chose to sign it.
Ask Ganesh if he feels stereotyped after taking up one cop role after the other (he has played cops before in Unnaipol Oruvan and Thani Oruvan), and he says, I honestly believe that if people like to see you in one kind of a role again and again, you have to give them that. Personally, for me as an actor, it is not about playing a cop, but how different each cop is from one another that makes a difference. My focus is on how differently I can play the character, so I dont really think I feel stereotyped.
